Description/Specification:
 
The SP1/D Spark Tester is a hand held electro-mechanical generator producing an output voltage that is adjustable between 10kV and 55kV.
 
The tester is powered by mains supply.  The unit is housed in a moulded pistol shaped case enabling single handed operation.
 
Spark generation is activated by a push button in the handle and output voltage is adjusted using a rotary control at the rear of the unit.
 
The high frequency coil is a plug in type to facilitate easy replacement.  The SP1/D is not a precise instrument and cannot be calibrated exactly.
 
However it can be calibrated by using the Spark Test Calibrator (Please see Related Products). Also, as a guide, approximately 1,700V will breach a 1 mm air gap.
 
The output range of the SP1/D makes it suitable for testing material thicknesses from 1.5mm to 25 mm.
 
A 150mm flexible probe is supplied with the unit but a variety of alternative electrodes are available.
